Local community radio is one of the best ways to get your music into the ears of invested listeners and convert them to your biggest fans. Hear from RTRFM’s Breakfast Presenter Pam Boland and new Music Director Annika Moses about how you can get your music played on RTRFM – and radio stations all over the country. Get the inside info on what works – like emailing your music in, engaging PR specialists, volunteering at Radiothon – and what doesn’t. This is also an incredible opportunity to meet RTRFM’s team in person and network with the people who can spin your tunes on the wireless.
Pamela Boland bio:
Pam presents the flagship weekday Breakfast program on RTRFM; independent, non-profit community radio station championing independent and alternative voices, local music, arts and culture through innovative music and talks programming.
Alongside paneling and self-producing the daily program, Pam is a certified yapper with a passion for interviewing local bands, Australian acts and alternative international artists. She served as co-editor to the locally founded Love Letters Zine, an independent publication dedicated to women & gender-diverse people in the music industry. She’s worked as a writer, photographer, MC and moderator across Perth and London’s varied music and art scenes, jumping into the full-time role as RTRFM’s Breakfast host in 2023.
Annika Moses bio:
Annika began volunteering at RTRFM in 2017, cutting my teeth as a presenter on the experimental program Difficult Listening. Around this time she also started gigging regularly around Boorloo as a young artist, which RTR played a vital role in supporting.
In 2022, Annika began hosting Monday Drivetime with Doug Swampé, and continues in that slot presently with co-host (and bandmate) Drew Krapljanov. While her insatiable obsession with DIY music is a big factor, she's also drawn to community radio as a tool for practicing collective listening, pursuing social justice, and performing small but mighty acts of anti-capitalist resistance. As Music Director Annika endeavours to remain eager-eared, attentive and responsive to the diverse and vibrant music community here in Boorloo. Off your dial, you might find me wearing many musical hats (Nika Mo, Great Statue, Didion’s Bible, Lyndon Blue), running shows via Tone List, sewing and stitching in the sun, or hanging out with my wiry-haired rascal hound Kendrick.
