The BOABABS
The BOABABS (formerly known as the Zagoria Quartet) play high-energy music infused with influences from southern Africa, the Middle East and beyond.
The group is led by Ilan Zagoria, who developed his guitar style growing up in Zimbabwe and later studying and playing in South Africa. He is joined by seasoned world music exponents, Mark Cain on saxophone and other wind instrument, Percy Kalino on bass, and Shane Kearney on percussion and mbira (thumb piano).
Expect an immersive journey with irresistible dance rhythms, soaring melodies and wild folk/jazz improvisations.
