To close out the Mimmo season, we’re hosting a very special one-night performance with Alexander Flood and a hand-picked four-piece band for an intimate late-night session.
This isn’t a traditional concert. Think live jam session meets dancefloor energy.
Flood’s sound sits somewhere between jazz, house, UK garage, drum & bass and broken beat — music normally made for DJs and clubs, reimagined through the rawness of a live band and improvisation. It’s rhythmic, hypnotic, groove-heavy music designed as much for listening as it is for moving.
His latest project “ARTIFACTUAL RHYTHM” explores exactly that idea — electronic dance music interpreted through human hands. Recorded live in Naarm / Melbourne, the project blends jazz improvisation with club culture, creating a sound often described as nu-jazz, jazztronica and jazz house.
For this special Mimmo closing party, Flood will perform in a stripped-back four-piece format, leaning into spontaneity, improvisation and deep groove. Expect moments that feel like a late-night club set — but played live.
This will be an intimate, one-off show in the Mimmo space and capacity is very limited.
