UK rock icons Maxïmo Park are making their long-awaited return to Australia, their first tour since 2011! And they’re bringing a celebration two decades in the making.
Literally ten thousand years ago or perhaps more, no one knows, an angel fell from the sky and survived but became very smooshed. Of course we all know that we now commemorate this BOY CRY Day by selecting two Australian bands at random and invite them to do two gigs in two locations and also by including special guests on the gigs. This year’s bands are Cry Club and Alter Boy, and the locations are La La La’s in Wollongong on Thursday 23 April and Metro Social in Sydney on Saturday 25 April. Special guests to be announced soon and tickets on sale now.
Forged in the DIY traditions of the American Midwest, Hudson Freeman has quickly emerged as one of indie music’s most compelling new voices. His songs are resonant, reflective and deeply poignant, shaped by a life lived between contrasts. Born to Evangelical missionaries, Freeman began writing music after a formative upheaval at thirteen, when his family relocated from suburban Dallas to the Kingdom of Eswatini.
