Singer-songwriter Dan McCabe (Kildare, Ireland) first burst out in May 2020 when a single YouTube upload went viral, amassing more than 50 million views in just three months. Since then, he has established himself as one of Ireland’s most compelling modern voices - seamlessly blending the soul of traditional Irish ballads with contemporary folk.

Twenty-five years on, Watching Angels Mend still feels like a record that found people when

they needed it most — honest, melodic, and quietly fearless. Released at the turn of the

century, it became a defining chapter in Alex Lloyd’s story: songs that travelled far beyond their

original rooms, soundchecks, and late-night scribbles, and into the lives of strangers who

somehow knew every word.
