Highlights of the Day

After a breakout year of sold-out shows and international touring opening for Kelsea Ballerini (AUS), Midnight Til Morning (UK/EU), Maisie Peters (AU) aleksiah returns home to enter her boldest era yet with her third EP Good On Paper. To celebrate, she’s hitting the road for a run of headline shows that promise chaos, catharsis, and absolutely no emotional repression. 

Performing the album live for the first time live with his full trio behind him, James Donald is super keen for the world to hear these songs that he’s been sitting on - some for 10+ years! James’ music is many and varied, covering genres such as Jazz, Folk, Worship, and Pop. 

Syndesi, the debut new folk–inspired album from Peter Atzemis, reimagines the Greek bouzouki, blending its iconic sound with contemporary songwriting. This album, named after the Greek word for “connection,” reflects Peter’s Greek Australian identity and his evolving relationship with heritage through his compositional practice.

When North Carolina’s noise makers Wednesday first visited Aotearoa off the

back of their album RAT SAW GOD, audiences were taken by surprise in the

best possible way. A 95bFM review called the band’s Whammy show “a sold out

countrygaze extravaganza”, and everyone who came left with big hearts and

even bigger smiles.

Now, with the band’s unbelievable sixth album Bleeds out in the world, it’s high

time that Banished Music and Strange News had their fun pals from Asheville

down for a repeat visit, with three shows across Wellington, Lyttelton, and

The Traveling Wilburys were an 80s supergroup who came together almost by chance.

The Wilbury Legends show recounts the story of the formation of the "accidental" super group, The Traveling Wilburys by George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. It pays homage to all the Wilburys classics and a collection of smash hits by those individual artists with the irrepressible humour of the original band. This show is celebrating Bob Dylan’s 85th journey round the sun.
